Vander et al's Human Physiology

Eric P. Widmaier, Hershel Raff, Kevin T. Strang, "Vander et al's Human Physiology:The Mechanisms of Body Function"
ISBN: 0072880740
Publisher: McGraw-Hill Companies

The purpose of this book remains what it was in the first eight editions “to present the fundamental principles and facts of human physiology in a format that is suitable for undergraduate students regardless of academic backgrounds or fields of study “ liberal arts, biology, nursing, pharmacy, or, other allied health professions. The book is also suitable for dental students and many medical students have also used previous editions to lay the foundation for the more detailed coverage they receive in their courses.
This is the best book I've ever seen in Physiology. I enjoyed very much while studying physiology from this book for 2 years.
OverviewThe ninth edition of this classic text has been entrusted into the capable hands of a dynamic new author team. Eric Widmaier, Hershel Raff, and Kevin Strang have taken on the challenge of maintaining the strengths and reputation that have long been the hallmark of Human Physiology: The Mechanisms of Body Function. The fundamental purpose of this textbook has remained undeniably the same: to present the principles and facts of human physiology in a format that is suitable for undergraduates regardless of academic background or field of study. Human Physiology, ninth edition, carries on the tradition of clarity and accuracy, while refining and updating the content to meet the needs of today's instructors and students. The ninth edition features a streamlined, clinically oriented focus to the study of human body systems. Widmaier is considered higher level than Human Physiology by Stuart Fox, due to its increased emphasis on the mechanisms of body functions.

Clear explanations and a solid learning framework have been market tested and refined. Fox help students master the fundamentals by providing appropriate anatomical detail.Human Physiology is intended for the one-semester Human Physiology course often taken by allied health and other biology students. The beginning chapters introduce basic chemical and biological concepts to provide students with the framework they need to comprehend physiological principles. The chapters that follow promote conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization of facts.Health applications are included throughout the book to heighten interest, deepen understanding of physiological concepts, and help students relate the material to their individual career goals. Every effort has been made to help students integrate related concepts and understand the relationships between anatomical structures and their functions.
